- Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, who revealed earlier this month that he has been diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time, will begin chemotherapy next week.
- Cardinal George, who is 75, had undergone radical surgery in 2006 to remove his bladder and prostate; he had subsequently been declared cancer-free. But two weeks ago doctors found cancers in his liver and kidney.
