The "Doghouse" or the Happy House...It's Your Choice Gentlemen!

Chocolate Covered  Cherries from
Mystic Monk Coffee

Gentlemen, allow me to say...survival is a strong instinct. Very strong. Indeed.

If you don’t want to be in the proverbial “doghouse” this St. Valentine’s Day...and for several days thereafter...I have some good news!

The good monks at Mystic Monk Coffee have come to the rescue! Yours. Not mine. It’s a tad too late for an old over the hill bachelor of 59 such as yours truly to be rescued...but that’s a story for another time and one that I’ll just keep to myself.

Nevertheless...the good monks now have available just in time for St. Valentine’s Day their wonderful Chocolate Cherry Coffee, available in regular ground, decaffeinated ground, and whole bean regular. Their letter tells me that they are roasting it fresh as I type this.

Now maybe your sweet thing isn’t a coffee drinker...but is a chocolate lover...and is especially a chocolate covered cherries lover. I don’t blame her. I am suspicious of anyone who doesn’t like chocolate covered cherries. Especially these Chocolate Covered Cherries from Mystic Monk Coffee which their letter tells me are “real dried cherries, coated first with a layer of milk chocolate, and then finished with a layer of cherry flavored white chocolate.”

Stop drooling!

If you can’t make up your mind as to which one to get...then get both! Just order the Valentines Gift Set! It has 2 packages of Chocolate Covered Cherries, and 1 package of Chocolate Cherry Coffee, all tastefully packed in a beautiful red box.

See how easy that is? Get the gift set and you don’t even have to wrap it!

Or at the last minute you can always run over to the drug store and buy her one of those tired...lame..."I put no thought into this"...heart shaped box of chocolates that have been sitting in a warehouse since before Christmas.

So you can either be in the “doghouse”...or the happy house...it’s up to you. I can lead the horse to water but I can’t make him drink!

Remember....as always....your purchase of Mystic Monk Coffee helps to support the monastery of the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming and this blogger!

Finally, there is the Variety sampler, which gives you one each of the coffees listed in the sampler packs above.

Of course, if you have a large office, or a large number of family and friends to whom you want to give a small gift, you can always go for the 30 Pack Sampler, which gives you the following 2 oz. Snickering Monk? It's Not What You Think!

One of the things I like in life is humor. I enjoy it immensely. After all, with a face like mine, you better learn what humor is and how to laugh really fast.

So, the good monks of The Carmelite Monks of Wyoming, who offer their great varieties of Mystic Monk Coffee, have shown that they also enjoy a little humor with the name of their flavored coffee, Snickering Monk Candy Bar Coffee. (I can somehow imagine a group of snickering monks in a corner by themselves.)

They describe Snickering Monk as:

"Rich chocolate, roasted peanuts and sweet caramel, combined with the finest 100% Arabica coffee make the Snickering Monk Candy Bar a coffee to remember. Add warm cream and sweeten for a delectable fall treat!"

The Snickering Monk is available in regular ground and whole bean, and in ground decaffeinated.

They also have available their Thanksgiving Blend well in time for the cooler weather.

It is described as follows:

"Initial grapefruit impressions give way and open up to panoramic complexity; The malt, dark chocolate, cloves and charred cedar notes quickly gain momentum and surge into an expansive and full-bodied aftertaste that slowly retires, leaving traces of caramel, vanilla and bittersweet chocolate. Versatile enough to be served with or without cream, this complex blend is the perfect accompaniment to any dessert."

The Thanksgiving Blend is available in regular ground and whole bean only.

So you may want to give one of both of these coffees a try.

Don't forget, they also have Monk Shots available in several varieties for those of you with single serve machines, and they have 15 varieties available in 5 Pound Bags for parishes and offices/

Either way, when you purchase Mystic Monk Coffee, your purchase helps to support the monastery of The Carmelite Monks of Wyoming.

Pumpkin Spice Returns

Father Michael Mary let me know in his email that they have already had some snow on the mountains in Wyoming. It's a reminder of the coming fall and winter for the rest of us.

So, the good monks at Mystic Monk Coffee now have their ever popular Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee available. It is available in ground regular, whole bean regular, and ground decaf.

This is what they say about their Pumpkin Spice Coffee:

Smooth and sweet! The creamy pumpkin flavor melds perfectly with cloves and aromatic spices, finishing with a warming aftertaste that will make even the coldest fall day cozy. It's especially delicious when topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Packed in a recloseable limited edition bag.

If Pumpkin Spice is not your thing, then look over the selection of other flavored coffees here.

You can also find all of their available coffees here. They have regular ground, monk shots, decaf, and some fair trade organics available. They also of course, still have a fine selection of teas here.

Your purchases of Mystic Monk Coffee helps support the monastery of the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming, and helps me earn a couple of bucks, as well (when you use my links..thanks!).

Sweet Tea!!

That's what we call it down south. One can not be a southerner and not love their sweet tea. It's against the law!

OK....maybe it's not against the law....or maybe you'd just be reported to the Daughter's of the Confederacy, and there would be a long line of little old ladies with blue hair waiting for their turn to smack you one with their purse for having the audacity to dislike sweet tea.

And if you want to have some really refreshing sweet tea (iced tea for all you northerners and other uneducated people), then you have got to try the Iced Tea Blend from Mystic Monk Coffee. It is very good.

What? You didn't know that Mystic Monk Coffee has tea? You need to pay closer attention. If you used my links to Mystic Monk Coffee, you'd know these things! The good monks at Mystic Monk Coffee also have such teas as Mango Fusion, Peach Pizzazz, Earl Grey, and English Breakfast Tea.

You can also find their great coffees as usual (don't forget about the Monk Shots), including their Bolivian Fair Trade Organic!

With the weather getting warmer and more humid though, nothing hits the spot like a tall glass of sweet tea, especially if it is from Mystic Monk Coffee, where your purchases helps support the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming.

Psst...Mother's Day Is Sneakin' Up On Ya!

Just in case you forgot (you didn't forget, did you?), Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 11.

That's right. It's the time of year we all try to thank mom for giving us life....for sitting up with us when we were sick....bandaging those skinned knees....for being our chauffeur....for being our confidant....for straightening us out when we got out of line.

So, to help you show mom how much you appreciate her, you can give her something from Mystic Monk Coffee.

For instance, there is the Aurora Tea Gift Set. It come with Aurora Blend White Tea, Mystic Monk Blend Tea, and a stylish tea mug, all packed in a neat little pink basket (which mom can use for other things later).

If your mom loves flavored coffees, then the Amaretto flavored coffee may be just the ticket. The good monks have this to say about the Amaretto flavor:

Smooth and flavorful, our Amaretto flavor is full of almond nuttiness, and is especially good when made with cream and sugar.”

Amaretto is available in regular ground, whole bean regular, and in ground decaf.

If you can't decide what your mom would like from Mystic Monk Coffee, then give her something she will love. Give her a gift card from Mystic Monk Coffee. They are available in $15, $25, $50, $75, and $100. Then you can be sure that your mom gets exactly what she wants!

We can't ever pay our mom's back really. There is not enough time for us to really show her what she means. We need to try and show mom what she means to us while she's here. My mom is gone, but never a day passes without my thinking of her and missing her. I know she is in a far better place than we are, but I still wish she was here.

I know my mom would have loved getting Mystic Monk Coffee, because if ever there was a coffee fan, she was one. And she would have really liked knowing, that the purchase of Mystic Monk Coffee, helps to support the monastery of The Carmelite Monks of Wyoming.

Also readily available are two popular coffees for this time of year: the Cinnamon Coffee Cake (available ground regular, ground decaf, and whole bean regular), and the Thanksgiving Blend (available ground regular, and whole bean regular) flavored coffees.

Just Say 'No' To Starbucks

So, now the CEO of Starbucks, has told a shareholder who supports traditional marriage that he should sell his shares and invest in another company. You can read about it here and get the full report from Forbes here.

The shareholder had complained to CEO Howard Schultz that the company had lost customers because of it's support for gay “marriage”. Last year, Starbucks announced it's support for the Washington State referendum backing gay “marriage”, and declared same sex “marriage” one of Starbucks' core values. As such, the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) launched a boycott of Starbucks, and you can go sign their petition here at Dump Starbucks.

Depending on which poll you read, the claim is made that anywhere from 54% to 58% of Americans now support same sex “marriage”. According to another poll that I read today, 56% of Catholics now support same sex “marriage”.

Well, this is one Catholic who does not support same sex “marriage”, and who still believes that God's Law and the teachings of the Church are still just as relative and applicable to today as they have always been. No matter how many laws or referendums are held that declare same sex “marriage” as valid, it will never, ever be valid in God's truth and Church teaching.

Now that all being said, you can still get good coffee....excellent coffee...the best coffee in fact...by buying your coffee from Mystic Monk Coffee as blended and sold by the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming. That way, you can have the satisfaction of not supporting a company that endorses unnatural “marriage”, while knowing that steaming hot cup of Mystic Monk Coffee you are enjoying supports the good Carmelite Monks of Wyoming and their monastery.

While you are at the Mystic Monk Coffee website, be sure to check out their religious gifts, drink-ware, and equipment, too.
